Rescue packs for COPD or asthma

The practice is aware that social media has been promoting the idea of 'asthma rescue packs' of oral steroids and antibiotics for patients to keep at home during the current situation.  This is NOT professional advice.

These are NOT appropriate to self medicate with in an indiscriminate way and can have the potential to cause even more severe coronavirus disease if used inappropriately.

There is currently no strong advice that ibuprofen can make Coronavirus worse.

But until we have more information, take paracetamol to treat the symptoms of coronavirus, unless your doctor has advised you paracetamol is not suitable for your child.

If you or your child are already taking ibuprofen or another non-steroidal anti-inflammatory on the advice of a doctor, do not stop taking it without checking first.
